Brushing and flossing every day is a great way for you to prevent things like gum disease and decayed teeth, but unfortunately it will only get you so far!
After a few months, the bacteria you’re cleaning off when you brush/floss will start to harden (calcify) and go below your gums, making it impossible for you to remove with just a toothbrush and dental floss. So, a professional clean with your Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist every 6 months (unless advised otherwise) is necessary to get those little tooth barnacles off before they start causing problems.
